AZTR bike set up...
I weighed it with water but no food, it was at 38lbs. with food I should be 41/42lbs

One "mega" bottle that holds 30oz I will use this for "Carbo Pro" a high calorie drink mix

One standard large bottle, about 24oz I will use this for Perpeteum
frame mounted  hand pump with duct tape wrapped around it.

seat bag -
sleeveless base layer tech shirt, bandana,
long sleeve tech shirt, extra riding shorts, extra socks,
long sleeve fleece jersey, tights, skull cap, camp/sleep shorts,
arm coolers/wormers swap out as needed
baby wipes (shower, lol), tooth brush
 2 tubes
first aid kit - lg. bandaids, butterfly stitch, sterilizing wipes, neosporin, aleve, lighter
also in this pic, I swapped out the carbon post for a Thompson
and the ultra light seat for one with a little more padding & comfort
food - Perpeteum, Carbo Pro, fruit roll ups, jerky, Tuna packs, Gels...
The net will hold a Spot Tracker.

I had to modify the cables. The cable stops are at the back of were the bag sits, duct tape.  I added some short lengths of housing and used the duct tape & a zip tie to keep it in place. This allows the bag to strap tight to the frame without pinching the cables.

In this bag is the tool kit.
Chain tool, Lezyne micro bike tool, custom (sawed off) Allen tool, tire boots, extra batteries (GPS), sm adjustable wrench (valve cores/spoke nipples), tire lever, chain lube, patch kit, plugs, braided fishing line & needle to sew a tire or first aid for me... really bad cut.

Mission control - Garmin Etrex 20, Feed bag for quick easy to get things like sun screen, lip balm, gels, Phone (camera/music)
On the front is the sleep system -  down bag, inflatable ground pad, Tyvek for a water proof tarp

No backing out now

I have become completely obsessed with reading about ultra endurance mountain biking. In particular, the Arizona Trail Race 300.  I read a different blog from the people who do these crazy multi day events each night. Im trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can before April 19th. I have committed myself to doing the shorter version, 300 miles. the longer version is 750 miles, out of mi league.
I have had this on my mind for almost a year. In December I got serious about my training and started doing really long rides. I got some help for my ongoing back issues. I do exercises  3-4 nights a week - on nights I don't ride. I try to eat healthy, and have even consulted a dietitian. I am as fit as a 45 year old man can be. A man with a family and full time job, that is.
My goal is 4 days. I hope 75+/- a day is realistic. I will carry all my gear, sleep system, food, tools, clothing (hot & cold weather), light system for night riding, first aid, ect.

I just booked my flight... so I guess theres "no backing out now"
